Orpington - Greater London
Orpington in the borough of Bromley has a good but not overly large population. It is a typical commuter belt town. There were nearly 16,000 residents of the town when the last census was taken. As one of the feeder towns for London its demographics show a high number of young professionals.
The chances are that some or most of those young professionals will become parents one day and so at nct-orpington.org.uk we have made the information relevant to the local population. The branch is one the many National Childbirth Trust (NCT) outlets in the country. Orpington is fortunate to have its own local branch.
The trust is a charity organisation to cater for new and existing parents. In the Orpington branch there is professional advice on hand, and there are telephone help lines on the main NCT website. The Orpington branch holds classes for prospective parents, and these are attended by expectant Mums and Dads.
It’s useful for the prospective father to know what to expect on delivery day! These classes are nationally famous, with doctors and nurses recommending them to pregnant women and their partners. In addition to the classes the NCT and nct-orpington.org.uk has a range of good products available.
New parents attending the pre and post natal classes at Orpington will soon find their social life is extended. One of the side benefits of belonging to the NCT is the ‘networking’ amongst parents. There nothing like sharing experiences with someone else and often problems which seemed difficult are quickly resolved over a cup of coffee.
